History
Mother Maria Loretto Santisimo Sacramento, a professed nun of the Brigettine Order, founded this order in Mexico in 1879. Mother Maria de las Mercedas de la Santisima Trinidad was named the first superior.

Purpose
As contemplatives the sisters give glory to God through the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament exposed and the recitation of the Divine Office in Latin. In the active apostolate, the sisters teach college, conduct retreats, give catechetical instructions and make alter breads and alter vestments.

Habit
The Sisters wear a dark red habit, a black veil and white cape. A white habit and red cape is worn on principal feasts.
